WOWSRS
WOW? is an award-winning, patented technology that significantly enhances the quality of mono and stereo audio material. It creates the perception of improved dynamics and bass performance over standard speakers or headphones.
   WOW makes up for the limitations inherent in smaller speakers and headphones by providing a panoramic three-dimensional audio image that extends the sound in both the horizontal and vertical planes well beyond the speakers or headphones themselves. As a result, manufacturers of small audio devices, televisions, wireless and personal/portable products can dramatically improve their product’s audio performance without enlarging the speaker size. The enriching effects of WOW are especially noticeable on digitally compressed mono or stereo audio in formats such as MP3, WMA and audio CD in which the ‘tinny’ hollow sound is greatly reduced.
   WOW Features:
   WOW is comprised of SRS®, TruBass® and FOCUS® technologies.
   SRS: SRS is the leading 3D sound technology in the world. SRS restores the spatial information that is masked by traditional recording and playback techniques. By breaking down the stereo signal into its various components, it is possible to isolate and restore the spatial cues, or ambient information present in the original recording, and place them in the proper space relative to the direct sounds.
   These spatial cues are processed via patented frequency response correction curves. As a result, the reproduced sound is much closer to what the artist originally intended and to that of a live performance. SRS has no critical listening position (sweet spot), therefore, the music and sound seem to fill the room, immersing the listener in full three-dimensional sound.
   TruBass: TruBass is a patented SRS technology that enhances bass performance by utilizing proprietary psychoacoustic techniques. These techniques restore the perception of fundamental low frequency tones by utilizing the harmonics present in the original audio source to recreate the low bass frequency information – even if this information is below the speaker or headphones low frequency limitations. TruBass therefore delivers the perception of deep rich bass up to an octave below the physical low frequency limitation of small, medium or large speakers or headphones.
   FOCUS: FOCUS elevates the sound image field to create the perception of image height. When used in combination with SRS 3D, FOCUS delivers an enlarged sound image, producing a much taller and wider sound field with a broad sweet spot. Additionally, FOCUS improves clarity in the high frequencies and is very immersive for the listener. In products where speakers are located below the listening field, such as internal projection televisions or automotive speakers that are mounted in the door panel, FOCUS can be adjusted to electronically reposition the sound field to the optimal position in front of the listener.
   WOW for Small Speakers: Most of today's consumer electronics and wireless devices are getting smaller in size, however the audio capabilities are becoming more robust. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly more difficult for small-speaker products to reproduce a quality audio experience. WOW technology affords manufacturers of small speaker products the opportunity to provide the same impressive stereo and bass performance as larger speakers, while enabling the manufacturers to keep their overall products and speakers smaller in size.

谈srs(·)系统

srssound  retrieval system的缩写,意思是音响还原电路,能重现真实的现场立体感。是美国srs实验室的最新音响科技专利,srs的主功方向是双声道环绕,SRS( ●)是它的注册标志。

srs技术的发明人是阿诺德,克雷曼(arnold klayman)。他是个音响爱好者,在从事心理声学研究时,发现了人类听觉系统对三维空间的声源的定位总是从而产生了srs技术的雏形。可以做一个实验,在前额处磨擦手指,然后慢慢地反手指移向头的一侧,使手指与前额和耳朵等距离,您会注意到音量的升高、且中、高频更强一些。实验中,磨擦手指相当于产生一个稳定的音量,您的耳朵相同声的听觉以及对大脑的批示是不同的,这了取决于声音来自前方还是侧面,从侧面来的声音比较响,这是由于耳庭造成的。

当声音从前方来时,耳庭将很多频率元素从耳道反射出去,而侧面来的声音其反射与之不同。这样从侧面来的声音强度大,到达的时间短,耳朵就将这些信息传到大脑,这被称为与脑相关的传播功能。由于这种传播取决于声音的音量和方向,所以声波在传播中始终是变化的,提供给您大脑也必须是变化的细节,使您知道正在听什么,从什么方向听到的。

传统的双声道立体声不能营造三维环绕声场,并不是因为只用两个音箱,而是因为双声道录音时的麦克风没有人耳的耳庭,所以通过麦克风录音时对侧面的声音总不能像人耳那样,无论用多少麦克风也无济于事。srs系统则考虑到这些持续变化的传播功能,使听者听到的与原始演奏效果更接近。

srs根据立体声信号中能体现监场感的环绕声(反射声与混响声)分别记录在左、右声道中,将rl两个信号相加产生一个总信号(r+l),然后再将两个信号互减产生两个差分信号(r-l)和(l-r),经srs处理后的总信号、差分信号及周围的环境信息(反射音场和混响声场),提供给人耳系统。对于麦克风和常规的立体声音响来说,由于“l-r”和“r-l”的差分信号麦克风“听”不到,立体声音响系统也不能复制,所以重放时没有空间感。srs对差分信号和总信号进行处理,最终的声音符合人的听觉系统并使空间信息得以恢复。从而通过对真实演奏环境的恢复,增强了立体声像,使人从主观上感觉到声像的空间方位和分布。

  srs对于现场录制的节目(音乐会、电影)经处理后有非常惊人的效果。如果播放的节目源中本身就没有给人的现场感的环境声,如采用多声道前期录音和后期合成制作的cd片,或是电脑合成音、效果就不像现场音乐会那么明显了。srs可以播放普通立体声节目源,也可以播放杜比环绕声编码节目,还可处理将单声道信号源,用立体声功放和两个音箱营造具有空间感的三维环绕立体声场。

   srs的音箱摆放和聆听位置没有限制,即使两个音箱摆得很近,或在房间任意走动,都可以听到空间感很强的三维环绕声场。srs
